WHAT DOES THE TOUR CONSIST OF?
The full tour has three parts, which are explained in detail below.
Please remember that we’ll be happy to customise the tour according to your requirements.
1. A walk through the grove
We’ll wander through the centuries-old olive grove, where you’ll learn what olive trees look like, how they came to the Iberian peninsula, and their importance throughout history.
You’ll have the chance to visit an organic olive grove and learn about the work we do throughout the year to ensure we produce high-quality extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), with a particular focus on our chosen variety: Cornicabra
2. A tasting course
You’ll learn to distinguish between different grades of olive oil and understand why each of them is produced.
You’ll taste a variety of samples.
In the process, we’ll answer questions such as:
Why are some oils spicier or more bitter than others?
What information should I look for on the label?
Does the colour matter?
What does the acidity mean?
3a. Tapa + glass of wine
After your stroll through the olive grove and tasting course, you’ll take a break under one of our centuries-old olive trees and enjoy a tapa of mature Manchego cheese. The cheese is produced by a family farm from their own sheep’s milk and is served with bread, olive oil and tomato.
The tapa is served with a glass of wine from a local winery.
3b. Tasting menu
After your stroll through the olive grove and tasting course, you’ll enjoy a fantastic tasting menu consisting of six plates of farmhouse produce from the Toledo region, such as partridge pâté, tapenade, pumpkin morcilla (black pudding) and a special dessert paired with our olive oil.
The food is served with a wine from the local region.
